ALISAN is named after Mount Ali in Taiwan, made famous by the Chinese folk song "The Girls of Ali-San" from the blockbuster movie "The Lark" (1965) sang by Carrie Koo Mei. The song is about the beauty of Alisan and the aboriginal women that lives on this mountain. "San" means mountain or hill in Chinese. The letters "LIS" in the ALISAN logo form the Chinese character for mountain.
